What there is to say about me.
I'm a novelist, essayist, and consultant based in Brooklyn, New York.

I've published three novels with Graywolf Press and Farrar, Straus and Giroux. I'm a Guggenheim Fellow, winner of the Bard Prize for Fiction, and a National Book Foundation "5 Under 35" honoree.
My work has appeared in The New York Times, Harper's, The Yale Review, Tin House, Best American Short Stories, and elsewhere.

For the past decade I've also run a communications consultancy, working with executives, nonprofits, and technology companies that need someone to help them figure out what they're trying to say — and say it better.

I live in New York City. I am reliably funny at dinner parties.
